New Hampshire Republican Primary – January 10, 2012

Coming into this primary, it was widely expected that Mitt Romney would win it, and win easily. Polling showed Romney getting between 35-40% of the total Republican vote in the days leading up to the primary. Desperate candidates such as Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman began attacking Romney over his work at Bain Capital, hoping to chip away at his advantage in the state where Romney owns one of his homes. Gingrich, Perry, and Huntsman rhetoric came off almost as Occupy Wall Streetish for it’s anti-capitalist tone, and Mitt Romney went on the an easily victory in New Hampshire winning about 39% of the GOP vote. A number that basically met expectations. Ron Paul came in second in this primary, capturing more than 20% of the vote, and the Obama plant RINO fraud Jon Huntsman came in third. Gingrich who went on his anti-capitalist attack ended up a disappointing fourth, with Rick Santorum coming in fifth after his surprise near tie of Romney in Iowa just a week earlier. Rick Perry didn’t bother to campaign in the state and got about 1% of the vote.

Ron Paul’s speech (crowd chants President Paul!)
Jon Huntsman speech. Ironic isn’t it that Huntsman is using John McCain’s failed 2008 campaign slogan?
