Communist Democrats really hate calling today Columbus Day and insist on calling it “Indigenous People’s Day” instead.. They also insist that we sit on stolen land and all that other left wing bullshit… Yet, let us not forget.. It was communist Democrats that created the Indian Removal Act of 1830 in Congress and signed into law by Democrat president Andrew Jackson.. A little more inconvenient facts for filthbag communist Democrat and their propagandists in the media.
47 Presidencies. 47 Defining Moments.
No. 7 — Andrew Jackson (1829–1837)
Defining Moment: The Indian Removal Act and the Trail of Tears, 1830–1838
In 1830, Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act, giving the federal government authority to negotiate the removal of Native American nations from lands east of the Mississippi.
The policy led to the forced removal of tens of thousands of Native Americans. The Cherokee later challenged their removal in court, and in Worcester v. Georgia (1832), the Supreme Court ruled that Georgia could not impose its laws in Cherokee territory.
The removals continued anyway. The Cherokee forced migration of 1838–39 became known as the Trail of Tears, during which thousands died.
Jackson’s presidency is therefore remembered not only for expanding presidential power and championing the “common man,” but also for a federal policy that caused enormous suffering among Native peoples.
