The Michigan Democratic Party just KICKED OUT Rep. Haley Stevens for endorsing Republican Mike Rogers, per the Washington Post.

#new Democrats turn on Haley Stevens, kick her out of the Michigan Democratic Party, and unload on her with accusations of betrayal, lying, and being unhinged after she endorsed Republican Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate.
Many are now warning her to be careful because the last high-profile Democrat who crossed her own party, Minnesota’s Melissa Hortman, ended up de*d.
Stevens, who lost the Democratic primary to Abdul El-Sayed by 1 point, appeared with Rogers at Perfecting Church in Detroit.
She was set to stick by her party, despite her objections to El-Sayed, but his refusal to condemn an anti-semitic ad that blamed high prices in the U.S. on Israel "k*lling Palestinians," his relationship with communist Hasan Piker and his refusal to take down an ad that features Tucker Carlson pushed her over the edge.
After Stevens asked him to apologize for and condemn the anti-semitic ad, El-Sayed told her she was no longer welcome in his campaign and she needed to stay away.
Now her own party is turning on her, despite that she served eight years in the House and is wildly popular in Michigan.
The Michigan Democratic Party kicked her out. Its chair, Curtis Hertel, called her a liar said she was throwing a tantrum with her “abhorrent” decision and said,
“I don’t think she has a future in the Democratic Party at all. I don’t think she has a future in elected office at all.”
Her photo was removed from the party website and access to the voter file was cut off.
Senate minority Leader Chuck Schumer, called it “a despicable betrayal.”Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that Stevens “has chosen to dangerously betray Michigan families’ healthcare, freedoms and future with her horrific
endorsement of Mike Rogers.” Despite Pelosi previously saying El-Sayed’s anti-semitism was wrong.Other Democrats piled on:
🔷️Rep. Jared Huffman (California) it was “pathetic, petty, selfish, unhinged.”🔷️Rep. Sam Liccardo (California) “I’ve seen more pleasant self-immolations.”
🔷️A El-Sayed supporter at the Detroit event repeatedly shouted “Haley Stevens is a traitor!”
🔷️Her longtime chief of staff Justin German and multiple staffers resigned, with German saying they were “shocked and heartbroken.”
🔷️Zohran Mamdani said she “betrayed” working-class people “by endorsing the very Republican she said she wanted to run against.”
DNC Black Caucus Chair Virgie Rollins called her a “sellout who used Black Michiganders for a political stunt.”
Many Democrat voters are now speaking out saying they are upset with how visciously Democrats are attacking Stevens, adding that they cannot accuse Trump of being a dictator, when they are the ones excommunicating one of their own, because she has a difference of opinion.
Critics say that Democrat party leaders who once courted Stevens (including Schumer and Pelosi) turned on her the moment she refused to fall in line, and that the swift expulsion, staff purges, and public character attacks looked more like communist enforcement than ordinary politics.
On the flip side, President Trump praised her “bravery” and “almost unprecedented loyalty to the Great People of Michigan,” especially Black and Jewish voters, and suggested she should join the GOP.
Rogers said he was “honored” and framed the endorsement as “standing together against hate.”
What does it say about the Democrat party that they immediately kicked a sitting congresswoman out of her state party for refusing to endorse anti-semitic ads, and a man who campaigned with Hasan Piker – who said Americans deserved 9/11?
