What will the No Fun League think of next? The NFL is forcing the Madden series of video games to remove the ambulance animation, empty seats, helmets popping off and other so called ‘violent’ animations. The Madden NFL video game has been around for 25 years with these animations, yet all of a sudden they need to be removed? What exactly has changed in the last 25 years to make these animation too much to bear for the players of the video game? The wussification of America continues.
They are, roughly, what you’d expect: a whole lot of things related to player safety, including helmets popping off, coaches being run over on the sidelines, and overly violent hit-stick animations. Chief among them: the long-lamented ambulance.
What’s next from the NFL? Are they going to ban all contact and have players play flag football? Are tackles in Madden going to be banned in Madden because it might be ‘too violent?’
