A student in Washington DC is being treated for Ebola like symptoms. As is the case with the man in Texas, this student recently traveled to Africa. Ban all travel from Africa now! The UK and France ban travel from West Africa because of Ebola, so why can’t we? If this person does in fact have Ebola, then lets send all Congress critters back from their recess.

“We can confirm that a patient has been admitted to Howard University Hospital in stable condition, following travel to Nigeria and presenting with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola,” university spokesperson Kerry-Ann Hamilton said in a statement Friday.
“In an abundance of caution, we have activated the appropriate infection control protocols, including isolating the patient. Our medical team continues to evaluate and monitor progress in close collaboration with the CDC and the Department of Health,” Hamilton continued.
“For privacy reasons, we cannot share additional details about the case. We will continue to provide key updates as the situation warrants,” she added.
FOX 5’s Tom Fitzgerald reports the patient is a student who came to the hospital on their own and was complaining about being ill. It’s important to note that the patient has not been diagnosed with the Ebola virus.
D.C. Department of Health director Dr. Joxel Garcia said they are working with both the Centers for Disease Control and Howard University Hospital to monitor any patients who have symptoms associated with the Ebola virus.
