It took a week for Tom Harkin’s sexist comments about Joni Ernst to leak no. No media bothered covering the comments Harkin made about a week ago, claiming that Joni Ernst ‘is really attractive’ like ‘Taylor Swift’. Had any Republican made similar comments about a Democrat female running for office, it would have basically been their Todd Akin moment, and the media would be going nuts covering up. But because Harkin is a crusty, white male progressive liberal Democrat, the media ignored this story for as long as they can. Today, Joni Ernst responded to Harkin’s sexism and said she is greatly offended. I don’t blame her.
Senate Republican candidate Joni Ernst told Fox News on Monday she was “greatly offended” after retiring Sen. Tom Harkin — the Iowa Democrat she’s hoping to replace — suggested her looks are a factor in her surging campaign.
“I think it’s unfortunate that [Harkin] and many of their party believe that you can’t be a real woman if you’re conservative and if you’re female,” Ernst said. “Again, I am greatly offended about that.”
Harkin, at a local Democratic event last week, said: “In this Senate race, I’ve been watching some of these ads. And there’s sort of this sense that, ‘Well, I hear so much about Joni Ernst. She is really attractive, and she sounds nice.’”
The old crusty liberal Harkin is lucky he is retiring. I bet Joni Enrst could castrate him, like the pigs she mentioned in her ad.
The war on women does exist. It’s being conduct and has always been conducted by left wing extremist Democrats.
