New Hampshire Attorney General probe of possible Democrat voting violations

The New Hampshire Attorney General office has opened a probe of possible Democrat voting violations in the New Hampshire primary. Progressive liberal Democrats were caught on video by Project Veritas. You’ll also note that the WMUR story fails to mention which party the possible voting violations came from. Hint, it wasn’t the Republicans.

New Hampshire Attorney General probe of possible Democrat voting violations

Project Veritas released a video on Wednesday morning that showed alleged out-of-staters trying to register to vote in the presidential primary being told by alleged election officials and campaign workers that they can vote in New Hampshire without providing proof, beyond an affidavit, that they live in the state.

In the video, apparently recorded using hidden cameras, local poll workers tell people affiliated with Project Veritas that they do not have to “stay” in New Hampshire for any set period of time before being allowed to register to vote.

“I have looked at the video and it does portray some conduct that we are going to have to look at,” Assistant Attorney General Stephen LaBonte told WMUR.com on Thursday afternoon.

LaBonte said it is accurate that the Attorney General’s Office has decided to begin an investigation.

“We’ve made a determination that we need to follow up and determine if there are violations,” LaBonte said.

LaBonte specifically pointed to RSA 659:34, which says it is “wrongful voting,” subject to a maximum civil penalty of $5,000 when someone, while registering to vote:

“(P)urposely or knowingly makes a false material statement regarding his or her qualifications as a voter to an election officer, or submits a voter registration form, an election day registration affidavit, a qualified voter affidavit, a domicile affidavit, a challenged voter affidavit, an affidavit of religious exemption, an identification card voucher, or an absentee registration affidavit containing false material information regarding his or her qualifications as a voter.”

The law also says it is a Class B felony if someone votes if he or she is not qualified under the separate law that requires a person to have a “domicile” in the state in order to register to vote and vote.
