Trey Gowdy, who always talks a good game but never seems to get anywhere with his bold statements and threats has suddenly decided not to run for re-election in November.

No biggie. Gowdy’s seat is a safe Republican seat and Democrats zero chance of taking it. The timing of this announcement is rather odd though. You know what I’d like to see though. If and when there is another opening on the Supreme Court, when shovel-ready Bader-Ginsburg finally retires, Gowdy would be a great new SCOTUS judge.
If not that, maybe Trump can dump worhtless Jeff Sessions and make Gowdy his Attorney General.
