Ok, well that sucked. Trump agrees to re-open the government for three weeks, with no apparent concessions from communist Democrats. How in the hell was this a win today? Is this supposed to be the “Art of the deal.” What the hell then was the whole point of this shutdown? If Trump was so insistent on border wall funding for re-opening the government, and doesn’t end up getting jack shit, what the hell was the whole point? Does Trump really foolishly believe that Democrats will negotiate in good faith over the next three weeks to get a border security deal done? Either Trump will be right back in this same position on February or he will be forced to declare a national emergency to get funding for the wall. That of course would be tied up in the courts for years.

Trump agreed to reopen the government for three weeks while negotiations continued — with no apparent wall funding concessions from Democrats.
He argued that he had heard from enough Democrats during the shutdown who were willing to support border security including physical barriers as part of the solution, allowing him to reopen the government temporarily.
Make no mistake, Trump got played by Botox Pelosi and Cryin’ Chuck Schumer. He may be a good deal maker when it comes to real estate, but he sure as hell isn’t when it comes to being president. This is a complete and utter cave.
