Facebook will no longer remove posts or content claiming that the COVID-19 virus is man-man or manufactured. I have had numerous posts and content removed for “violating Facebook community standards” in the past year for linking to what was already common knowledge. All those “community standards” violations you may have accumulated for posting such content don’t look like they will be removed despite this temporary change in policy.
Don’t expect this policy to stick either. We all know China owns Zuckerberg and Facebook. They will likely pull a John Cena in a few days and grovel for China’s forgiveness over this. Watch.

In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made or manufactured from our apps. We’re continuing to work with health experts to keep pace with the evolving nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge.
