Sarah Palin advances to runoff for Alaska US House At-Large Special Top-Four Primary

Alaska has one of the weirdest primary systems I’ve ever heard of. They had a primary election last night, in which the top four vote getters (out of about 45 or so candidates) for the Alaska House seat that was vacated when Don Young passed away. Sarah Palin got the most votes of anyone, including phony Republican Nick Begich (the son of a communist Democrat family famous in Alaska).

The top four candidates in this runoff advance to the general election on August 16th. This is also a ranked based system, like what New York City uses. So if someone like a Palin wins the most votes on August 16th, so should still lose the election because of the stupid ranked choice crap.

Palin, Begich and an independent named named Al Gross have advanced. The fourth spot is yet to be determined.

Whoever wins in August will have to win again with the stupid ranked voting system in November when the general election all over the country occurs.

Palin or phony Begich are likely to win in August and November. The bottom two finishers from last night have no shot at all. Out of over 100,000 votes, which is historic for an Alaska Democrat, the Democrat with the most votes has about 8,000 or so. That should let you know how Alaskans feel about the communist Democrats.
