Scandal is apparently good for Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s bottom line.
The controversial “Squad” member from Minnesota ended the year with a record fundraising quarter, pocketing $1.1 million – almost double the average of her previous three quarters, newly released Federal Election Commission filings show.
Between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, she pulled in more than 10,000 donations. Of those, eight people, all from out of state and including far-left billionaire George Soros’ son Alexander, contributed the maximum $7,000 to the Somali-born lawmaker.
The haul came as the lefty lawmaker increasingly found herself in the scandal spotlight, after a Page 1 Post story about her hubby Tim Mynett’s shady businesses and the couple’s skyrocketing wealth — which went from almost nothing to between $5 million and $30 million in the span of a year, resulting in probes from the Justice Department and Congress.
At the same time, questions swirled about what she knew of the $9 billion social services scam unraveling in her district and involving the Minnesota Somali community.
